Product Overview

The HVCM-019-016-003-02 is a hollow core linear voice coil motor designed for fast, precise, short-stroke motion. Its 0.125 in. (3.2 mm) clear through-aperture allows optical beams, illumination, wiring, tubing, or other components to pass through the center of the actuator.

Performance and Construction

The actuator measures 0.750 in. (19.1 mm) in outside diameter with a 0.625 in. (15.9 mm) housing length. It provides a 0.250 in. (6.4 mm) stroke, 7.4 oz (2.1 N) of continuous force, and 23.7 oz (6.6 N) of intermittent force at a 10% duty cycle. Its non-commutated brushless direct-drive construction provides smooth bidirectional force, zero cogging, quiet operation, rapid acceleration and deceleration, and long service life.

Mechanical Integration and Closed-Loop Control

For closed-loop position or velocity control, the motor can be combined with an appropriate position sensor, mechanical guidance system, servo controller, and current amplifier. Final positioning accuracy and repeatability depend on the sensor, guidance mechanism, load, structural stiffness, controller, and servo tuning.
