Product OverviewThe GVCM-016-019-01 is a brushless linear voice coil motor with an integrated shaft and internal bearing for guided, direct-drive motion. Its 0.625 in. (15.9 mm) housing provides a 0.50 inch (12.7 mm) stroke, 5.3 oz (1.5 N) of continuous force, and 16.6 oz (4.6 N) of intermittent force at a 10% duty cycle.Performance and ConstructionThe non-commutated direct drive design produces smooth bidirectional force proportional to coil current. With no gears, lead screws, or mechanical transmission components, the motor provides zero cogging, rapid acceleration and deceleration, quiet operation, and zero mechanical backlash when the load is coupled directly to the shaft. The housing length is 0.750 inch (19.1 mm).Key Features• Integrated shaft and internal bearing for guided linear motion• Direct-drive brushless operation with no cogging • Zero mechanical backlash when directly coupled to the load • Smooth, controllable force proportional to current • High acceleration, rapid reversal, and responsive servo performance • Compact cylindrical housing for space-constrained equipment • Threaded mounting and shaft features for straightforward integration ApplicationsMedical and Laboratory Equipment: Haptic feedback, pipetting, diagnostic instruments, sampling, and compact test systems.Optical and Scientific Systems: Optical focusing, beam steering, shutters, scanners, and precision positioning. Small-Scale Automation: Sorting, switch actuation, light clamping, small-part assembly, and dynamic vibration control. Mechanical Integration and Closed-Loop ControlThe built-in shaft and bearing simplify load alignment and provide guided linear travel. For closed-loop position or velocity control, combine the motor with a suitable position sensor, servo controller, and current amplifier. Final accuracy and repeatability depend on the feedback sensor, load, mounting stiffness, controller, and servo tuning.
